Now this is a very non touristy address in the middle of quite a touristy part of the Grau du Roi (one of the Gard’s main sea-side towns). It’s a surprising restaurant to discover with loads of personality.
La Reine du Grau has a vintage industrial look with its wooden painted floor, large yellow wooden bar, industrial suspension lights and many vintage objects. The owners of the place are friendly and fun with quite a French (or Swiss ?) humour. They also like choosing and changing the playlist as the evening goes on, so the music is definitely part of the whole experience.
At the Reine du Grau, you cook your own meat or fish on hot stones (you do get a little hot doing this in the middle of summer, I admit ;-). The place is known in particluar for the high quality of it’s delicious meats. The owners have then chosen a little selection of very good local wines to accompany the food.
The restaurant has developed a real clientele of regulars that come in and out, say hello to the owners, have a drink at the bar and stay on for long summer evenings.
I think I should stop trying to describe this fun, friendly, unconventional place and just let you check it out for yourself and let me know what you think of it!La Reine du Grau 38, rue des Combattants 30240 Le Grau-du-Roi 04 66 77 43 86 email@example.com
